NEON Countdown runs 7 hours from gates to the encore tease. Bangkok in late December sits at 29°C by day and drops to a breezy 22°C by 3am. Pack for both, and respect the bag policy — security will turn you away at the gate, not negotiate.
What goes in the bag
- Clear bag or small crossbody under 20×20×10cm — anything bigger gets refused
- Government ID (passport copy is fine for entry, original for the bar)
- Pre-loaded Rabbit Card and a credit card with NFC
- 200ml refillable water bottle (free water stations on-site)
- Loop earplugs or equivalent — saves your week's hearing
- Light layer for after 02:00 (a long-sleeve tied around your waist works)
- Portable charger (5,000mAh is plenty for the night)
- Wet wipes and a small pack of tissues — restroom paper runs out by 23:00
Dress code: function over fashion
Closed-toe shoes you've already broken in. The field is uneven gravel and you'll be on your feet for 9+ hours. Roshe-style mesh runners or trail-runners are the consensus pick. Boots get hot, sandals get stepped on.
Breathable top, light pants or shorts — denim is a humid mistake. A bandana or buff for the dust between sets is a small thing that helps a lot.
Leave these at the hotel
- 1DSLRs — banned. Phones and small action cams are fine.
- 2Vapes with refillable tanks — they get confiscated. Disposables pass.
- 3Umbrellas, even compact ones — security policy, no exceptions.
- 4Cash above 2,000 THB — the wristband goes cashless and there's nothing to spend it on.
"Half the medical-tent visits we see are dehydration. The other half are blisters. Both are 100% avoidable."
